I have had shells seemingly disappear, but that sounds really weird.

As I said it disconnected when I fell through the track. Think MK knew what my brain was telling me; "enough MK for one day and go to sleep!"

Yeah the shell disappeared just before you (I think?) hit me with your red shell. Rather fortunate timing; was dragging that around from the first item box! 

Then about 20 seconds later on the final straight the track disappeared and I disconnected. Both could be linked ofcourse, but it hasn't happened before (first online issue of any caliber I've had with this)
