What made no sense? Did the Wii U not just explode in sales, trippling Xbone's weekly sales on a week that should have been big for them with Watch Dogs coming out? Was it not within range of passing Sony? Is it not impressive that a "dead" console did this? Is English not your first language?
E3 is an important time for gaming because it generate hype and is when the world learns about what's coming and when. If a company stumbles at E3, they can cripple themselves, like the Xbone. Aside from the holiday season, what else could possibly be more important, to the gaming industry as a whole, than E3? Tell me, I'll wait.
Excitement and hype is a form of currency in sales, and that's why the recent news of Nintendo's strong showing has stirred Nintendo fans up so much and you see so much bluster from them now.
I'm not saying it's saved or it's doomed, I'm saying it looks good and after being repressed for so long the Nintendo fans are coming out in droves for their first real win since the system came out.
For the record I'm actually a pretty staunch Sony fan, but the Wii U has gotten me excited lately, especially after Watch Dogs let me down so badly. You always want to cheer for the underdog and to me watching sales and competition is like a nerdy pastime to tide me over until football season returns and my schedule gets busier.
