It's #3 for me. I do download, but something about having a tangible copy is just really appealing to me. If it just came in a box with a code to download it, I would prefer that over downloading it directly just because the box makes it tangible.
edit: I forgot to mention that I would most likely go for an official box, since that way it doesn't feel like some kind of fake.
