Seems like we didn't play the same ToS game. In the ToS game I played, no one except half-elves and elves could guess that Refill and Genius were Half-Elf. It even took taking blood sample for humans to detect they were half-elves.
So unless you point to me the part of ToS where "everyone and their pet dog could point out that they're not full blooded elves", I'll take it as your attention span is so poor that you mistake your deficiencies for deficiencies in the JRPG stories.
Same goes for Human/Elven racism. We definitely haven't played the same game. In my ToS, racism is towards half-elves on both Human and Elves side.
