I don't get how it works. They said that you will still be able to use kinect just as before and still get the 10% boost.

Well, giving the developers more resources doesn't mean that there isn't still some "saved" for the standard Kinect integration.

It only means that Microsoft allows developers now to use all the resources which aren't needed for the normal Kinect function which have nothing to do with integration in games. Like Skype and so on...

What I think is that Microsoft did hold some of the resources back even if they could have been used since launch to encourage developers to really use Kinect in their games. It was probably like:

"If we let developers decide to use some of Xbox One's power to integrate Kinect in their game or to use all the free resources  for other stuff like graphics, they will never put Kinect controls in their games  but if we simply reserve some of the power which they can only use if they use Kinect they may use it in their games"

I think that's how it was and since developers still didn't use Kinect in their games and since they sell Xbox  only Kinect now, they simply decided  to let them use all free resources not needed for the standard Kinect integration.

exatly what I thought. Even so it might be to late. We wont be see any improvements until next year, its to late for games that are almost out. the gap will increase by the time this is implemented.
