"Going by the 3DS market at the time we released the game, it was definitely a success and we're certainly hoping we can repeat that success with the home console version.

Given the large development costs we had on the 3DS version, we would have liked to have even a little more sales than we did in the end. But that doesn't mean we saw it as a failure by any means."

You don't keep putting out games that are "not a failure".  It's pretty neutral PR to be honest, saying that sales weren't good enough without flat out saying they were bad.

So, you are saying that Capcom should stop making games on 3DS that development costs compared to HD platforms is pocket change and that can have high profit potential such as Monster Hunter games? Specialy when Capcom is in such dire situation and they need all the cash to have a secure future for a forseable amount of time...

But regardless, it clearly didn't perform as they expected and they put it on consoles to get some extra money out of it.  Therefore I can see no reason for them going 3DS exclusive again.  They might put a game on 3DS as part of a multi-plat development - that much I could understand - but not another exclusive that invariably they'd have to port to home consoles again later.  Might as well just put it on all consoles from the start.

Your reasoning is seriously flawed and narrow minded to the point that I might you call mister roboto since you are being limited to the point that you can't consider what if situations nor do some actual speculate nor research. Remember Resident Evil 4 when it was exclusive to Gamecube and it sold well then it went onto PlayStation 2? Have you ever heard of time limited exclusives like it is exclusive for the platform like 6 to 12 months? Nintendo probably made that kind of contract with Capcom and console and PC versions launched more than a year after launch of original 3DS version so it is obvious that Capcom likely had a timed exclusive deal with Nintendo involving Revelations otherwise it would have been sooner a multi-platform title.

If you can't see Capcom doing another 3DS exclusive then something is wrong with you because that product sold enough to cover the costs of development and marketing plus it made them profit. It will probably be another timed exclusive that will be later ported to other platforms after the conditions of contract expires.

So they should risk having less sales thus profits than all Resident Evil Revelation versions combined? Jesus...

If it's a port of Code Veronica, that's a different story.  Ports cost peanuts and they game is already on PS3/360.

If it was Code Veronica then it would have been Code Veronica in the title, it only contains Veronica from Code Veronica thus I assume it is a new game and you have t-Veronica virus in Resident Evil games so it could be about improved t-Veronica virus or something in this Resident Evil Enhanced Veronica game... I doubt it is a port.

Why don't you try reading what I said again?  Nowhere did I say they should stop making 3DS games in general.  I'm saying they should stop making Resident Evil games exclusive to 3DS because the audience that is on 3DS is not large enough for the returns they want to make from the product.  As was demonstrated by Revelations.  I find it strange that you're arguing this when the producer flat out said that sales weren't as good as they expected.  They should keep making Monster Hunter because clearly the 3DS userbase is receptive to that series.  Not so much to Resident Evil.

I can't see them going exclusive with another 3DS Resident Evil title.  It makes no sense to me whatsoever, unless Nintendo offered them a pot of money for timed exclusivity like you said.  But at this point in the 3DS' life, there's no benefit for Nintendo from that - if they were going to get Resident Evil fans interested in the console, they'd have got it after Revelations released.  Throwing money at another one would just be an absolute waste.

So no, I don't think this will happen.  A multi-plat, sure.  An exclusive, no.  if that makes me Mr. Roboto, so be it.  You seem to be particularly stubborn with your viewpoint anyway and clearly aren't going to change your mind, so that makes two of us :)

(Also, you raise Capcom's dire financial situation.  How on earth is making exclusives going to help them?  They need to sell their titles where the fanbase is, and the Resident Evil fanbase definitely isn't on 3DS, reduced development costs or not.  I don't understand that line of argument at all)
