I was laughing because while Sony was profitable with the PS1 & 2, they lost back almost their entire last decade of earnings over the past two years.

Great business model. MS should pick it up right away. Not to say that MS has a better model, they don't, but it's hardly sunshine and roses for Sony.

PS. I bolded that part because once again, you're just spitting out pure comedy. It shouldn't surprise me though; I've found that intelligence is inversely related to screennames that bash or praise a company or product. Keep carrying that torch, though. It suits you well.

o'rly?

I think RocketPig meant is that they wiped out all this decades profits, from 2000 to 2008, Sony only made $24 million

Exactly. I phrased my OP poorly. It's not impressive when you had the most dominant console ever - the PS2 - and basically erased the entire success of it away in two years by losing nearly $3 billion.

Well okay that makes more sense, there is still one quarter left for FY07 (08 in the above chart) for Sony, they should turn a profit for that quarter and not lose as much money for the whole year.

They did lose a lot of money this past 2 FY, but they knew the PS3 was gonna cost a fortune and it was a big gamble with Blu Ray, but it looks like it might pay off afterall.
