Would the Wii U be in a much better state if MK8 released last Christmas?

Last year Nintendo released the disappointing Mario 3D World as their main game, and it sold terribly.

With just one week end counted, Mario Kart already sold around 60% of 3D World's total, which included weeks of holidays. It was a major mistake to not release MK8 during the holiday season.

This is right now the very first killer app of the console.

Disappointing for them, awesome for the gamers who actually got it.
