Would be amazing if true, but I just can't believe they would release the game that way. And although it's "just" a remake I expected a fix release date (+ all the common trailers, infos etc.) beforehand in order that more customers would be aware of it and then possibly would place a pre-order.
Such a surprise seems unlikely because it kinda sounds so non-economic 
Was there ever a similar release of a (retail) game in the video gaming industry?
