If you go by that assumption leo-j, then Sony killed themselves because they were the weakest system on the market last gen, which is definitely not hardcore. They weren't content I guess with 120 million sold, they wanted 120 million sold and be the most powerful, but most powerful means expensive and you don't get to 120 million by being expensive.
