The most logical reasons off the top of my head as to why Activision would ignore the WiiU version:

1. They want to increase the userbase of the Xbone and PS4 consoles more than the WiiU, since they sell more software there
2. They put a huge emphasis on DLC, something the WiiU versions of their games don't support. If they want to maximize their profits, they want people buying a console version other than the WiiU version

Those reasons sound somewhat plausible, but if true then Activision have no reason to blame Wii U on lacklustre sales of their games.

I feel that Activision want to avoid any association to their games and the Wii U since merely saying the word 'Wii U' brings up a lot of stigma from the minds of people (although that has died down somewhat in the last 5-ish months). I swear last year people would say 'ew, that game is on Wii U? Do not want' etc.

WiiU supports DLC. COD ghosts WiiU got the freefall map DLC. So the possibility of DLC is there, its just publisher who don't want to release it on WiiU.
