Nah, Metroid just overlaps with StarFox and F-Zero. Just that the galaxy's large enough that none of them ever run into each other (except that one timeline in StarFox Command where Fox and Falco ran away to join G-Zero).

Metroid has crossed over with Donkey Kong, and Samus is either seen or her armour is emulated in the same way as Links. I came up with a big other theory.
