It is happening, after Uncharted Golden Abyss another million seller (vgchart retail info) is incoming for Sony's system that is doing fairly well in Japan but lacks behind in other territories. At least AC3: Liberation had a good run on the system with a high attachment rate.

The game sold until the 17th of May 955k copies globally. Only 45k left for this game to reach a new milestone. At the beginning of the month of April this game sold around 940k copies which would suggest that this game sold 15k within 6-7 weeks. If use these numbers it will still take the game around 3 months in order to reach a million in sales but depending on what Sony has planned for during E3 it might be sooner/later.

However since most of the games on Vita sell very well digitally we can assume that the game already surpassed the milestone. There are no official numbers besides that you can find a lot of information regarding digital sales coming from Japan and there they usually range around 10-20% and if not, higher for select titles.

Hopefully there is still some life left for PSVITA in the west and I think that this E3 is there last chance. I'm curious to see what other games beside AC:Liberation will break a million on Vita. Some definitely deserve the sales.
