CBA to read through everyone elses impressions but on the whole I enjoyed it, and I generally don't get on with JRPGs.That said, I enjoyed it because it's a GOOD JRPG and I hadn't played one in years at that point.

Characters are generally OK, although a few are whiny, and IMO some you don't get until too late in the game.
Story is complex, convuluted and doesn't make much sense; i.e. solid JRPG territory. If you enjoy FF stories, you'll get on with Lost Oddyssey.
Battle system is good, bit more involved than your standard turn based, but doesn't reinvent the wheel unnecessarily.
Graphics WERE pretty sweet, but probably haven't aged too well.

Essentially if you like JRPGs you probably would enjoy it.
Xenoblade is also considered to be one of the best of last gen too (although I really couldn't get on with it, my partner adores it), if you have a Wii/Wii U and can find a copy.
