Chris Roberts announced today that the highly anticipated Dogfighting module for Star Citizen will be delayed again, as the team is not ready yet to release a stable version of it. Here Is Your First Look At Unreal Tournament’s Deathmatch
Epic Games has released the first prototype trailer for Unreal Tournament, showing off the game’s Deathmatch mode. As said, this is a prototype trailer, meaning that there is nothing on screen to wow you. Still, this trailer shows that the game’s development is progressing. Unreal Tournament will be a free game and I seriously hope that it will feature both double-jumps and wall-jumps. Enjoy! Continue reading

Elite: Dangerous with voice commands is cooler than a Sidewinder in silent running mode
Comments7Third-party VOIP programs have been a part of PC gaming since before Leeroy went Jenkins - but rarely have they helped a game fulfil its fantasy in the way VoiceAttack has Elite: Dangerous.
Finally, actual dogs: The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot now swaddled in Watch Dogs gear
CommentWhen you think about it, Watch Dogs’ surveillance madness is a good match for The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, the game about overzealous home security systems.
And Ubisoft Montreal have thought about it. They’ve bathed the halls of their action RPG in the pale blue light of wall-mounted cameras, and dressed their fantasy heroes in quip-muffling bandanas.
The cap didn’t make it over, somehow. Maybe it’s not so iconic after all.
Porting battle.net to iOS has made handheld Hearthstone a "significant undertaking"
Comments1Like it or not, battle.net is the backbone of every Blizzard game released in the last ten years - a hugely important chunk of PC gaming we’d be loath to miss out on. It’s enabled every fireball we’ve ever lobbed into an opponent’s face across the board, but it’s also made the business of scaling Hearthstone down to tablets extra tricky.
Gotcha: Arma 3 Karts April Fools' Day gag becomes real DLC
CommentWhen faced with April Fools' Day hoaxes from developers, the question is no longer a matter of whether or not something is real, but rather how long it will take before it becomes real. Last month, Bohemia Interactive teased Arma 3 Karts, a Jean Claude Van Damme parody that transformed Arma into a go-kart racer.
It’s now entirely real.
Extra value: Riot wants to start a dialogue with League of Legends players
CommentRiot wants to have a chat with you. The League of Legends developer says that it will never stop evolving and “improving the landscape of the game,” and that means it needs to improve how it communicated with its playerbase.
A real, meaningful dialogue is on the cards, says Riot. So it wants to share its values with you: mastery, meaningful choices, counterplay, teamplay, clarity and evolution. That’s a lot of values.
Renaissance bling: Europa Universalis IV's Wealth of Nations expansion is out now
CommentWith Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV’s cadence of expansions, I find myself hard pressed to make room in my life for other games. It could be worse, of course. I could be hooked on games that aren’t impressive grand strategy affairs where I can manipulate the world like a Machiavellian super villain.
Europa Universalis IV’s latest expansion, Wealth of Nations, drops today. It boasts big changes to trade and includes trading powers like the East India Company, which can rule foreign provinces. Hopefully better than the actual East India Company.
Stop the music: Chroma will undergo "substantial retooling" after alpha ends on June 4th
CommentChroma, Harmonix and Hidden Path’s F2P musical shooter, is going to be getting some extensive work done on it after the alpha finishes. The Rock Band developer said that it needs “substantial retooling”.
The decision was based on feedback from players during the alpha phase. Perfecting wub shootouts and explosive guitar riffs is probably a bit of an art.
Veteran MMO developer Mythic Entertainment shut down by EA
CommentMythic Entertainment is no more. The studio behind Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has been closed by Electronic Arts after almost 20 years of game development.
EA confirmed the studio’s closure earlier today in a statement to Kotaku.
Tropico 5 retail version delayed until June 17th; Penultimo likely to blame
CommentAh, retail. As I’m currently suffering a shoddy, but temporary connection, I’ve been frustrated with how long it takes to download anything, but I’ll still happily take it over traditional retail. A sentiment a few folk who ordered the retail version of Tropico 5 now share, no doubt.
Tropico 5’s physical release has been postponed in North America thanks to a delay in the packaging manufacturing. But at least the boxes will be nice and shiny when delivered.
Dog fighting: Nvidia and AMD clash over Watch Dogs and GameWorks
Comments1The rivalry between Nvidia and AMD continues, and it’s now getting rather dramatic. AMD’s Robert Hallock is suggesting that Nvidia’s GameWorks program, which was most recently taken advantage of by Ubisoft for Watch Dogs, represents a “clear and present threat” to the PC gaming ecosystem.
The program, which offers developers a range of graphical features and wizardry, threatens gamers by “crippling” AMD products, Hallock told Forbes. Not a minor accusation.
Witchmarsh reaches its Kickstarter target, sets sights on stretch goals
The gorgeous looking Witchmarsh has worked its 1920s rural magic, charming enough Kickstarter backers to secure the £50,000 it needed to raise. Which isn't to say the developers aren't hoping that the promise of a side-scrolling ARPG mystery can't attract more funds. Inglenook say their "dream target" is £160,000, and so naturally they have some stretch goals prepared.
