Everyone seems to trust IGN and distrust Gamespot, why?

I distrusted GS long before the Gerstmann incident, but that was the doom-hammer for my traffic there for sure.
It may sound like no one would care that I left, but I saw thousands of accounts disappearing after this! Not good at all for GS but very well deserved.
