10% is massive - used sales. I dont think its fair calling the gaming industry idiots. It's a serious problem just like piracy. I dont think they are idiots for trying to make money from what they have made. Take 10% of your salary and throw it away, it makes a difference. Now if it was 1% I would agree. Of course some people use trade in's to get other games but thats a different discussion for another time.
But, all this does is accelerate digital downloads.
As for boxed software being down, of course, very few big titles were released last year as the last gen wound up, I would see a massive spike in 2015 to boxed products as this gen starts to get going.
