Currently that Wii has 512 mb active storage
2 gb sd cards can be used only for storage.
A firmware update could make storage into active space.
Firmware could upgrade the sd to sdhc which goes up to 32gb as a format.
Firmware could allow usb harddrives with virtually unlimited storage.
Nintendo probably wont do any of those things because they are paranoid about piracy.
What I think Nintendo will do is relase storage solution of thier own(maybe flash 4gb or so) with Animal Crossing as a pack in.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
