no. A lot of times the off topics have generated new users due to the interest. Maybe more moderation in off topic titles and what's allowed would be better.
if people sign up because of interest in off-topic discussion
then we'll get even more off-topic topics cause those new members will make new off-topic topics, cause that's why they signed on
so there really is no positive logic in that
besides that
i don't believe you are talking about more than 1% of the new users
cause there are millions of other forums a lot more suited to talk about other stuff than vgchartz so they would actually waste their time here if they are not intereted in the chartz and gaming
anyway
i completely agree with the topic-starter
i think the hot-topic list on the front page is no place for topics like 'my girlfriend left me today' or 'what music do you listen to now'
