Has Microsoft already achieved its goal?

All good points but i think sony has made their goal also. So has nintendo and to a lesser way so has microsoft. Sony and the ps3 is a complete success. Getting blu-ray the standard was number 1 thing on sony's list. sony will make billions off that and also sony has a good chance of being close to the wii sales later this gen if not 2nd place for sure. there is no way microsoft will beat the ps3 is total sales and sony is going to make money of the ps3 and blu-ray. Having one standard in place (blu-ray) makes a company way more money then having sold 100 million consoles. And there is no way Downloads will ever be the run away success blu-ray WILL be. If sales of the ps3 keep on going the way they are they will have made money off ps3 in so many ways its not even funny. Nintendo has the market again. its selling like crazy prolly made a profit on the wii already (as in the whole dev time and RND). nintendo is happy with 3rd place as long as they make money but they are in 1st and no signs of slowing down and that means more cash for them. microsoft set out the xbox to make a profit. it looks like it will. you can say they have all the money in the world but if this 360 had another 4 years of lossing cash NO WAY would good ol' bill keep it going. But xbox is the least sucessful out of the 3 (if things keep going the way they are). Most games are going on wii and if they are on xbox they will be on ps3 also. Games are catching up on ps3 sales wise to xbox and devs are looking at that. there will not be that many xbox only games from 3rd parties unless microsoft pays for them and thats gonna drain them as well. they still suck in japan so that means some of the best games are really gonna be on wii and to a lesser way the ps3. they have played the price card in "others" and now when sony drops the price they will sell a whole lot. they are going to be in 3rd place this gen no matter what. but with all the games coming out and that are already out they have a MUCH better name then last gen which is very good. Thats my take.
