I've noticed a lot of people wish Nintendo will make a hybrid portable console next generation. However, I think there are some cons to this idea although there are definitely some pros as well. Let's imagine this being only one console like a tablet with a HDMI port and bluetooth connection for four controllers:

Pros:

1. More focused on one game device versus two

2. More games for one device versus less games on console and too many on portable (Wii U and 3DS and even Wii and DS)

3. Nintendo portable always sell way more than their consoles

4. Possible home console like Pokemon?

Cons:

1. Nintendo makes more profit on software than hardware

2. Hybrid console will need to sell more than a console and portable combo would for hardware profits

3. How does Nintendo distinguish handheld orientated software versus home console orientated software? Price? Will they cannibalize each other?

4. How weak is the hybrid portable console if its compromising on its portability?

What do you think are the pros and cons of a Nintendo Hybrid Console?
