If the Wii was sold at say 100$-200$, and software is sold at 40-60$, the total money is HW: 100m * 100$-200$ = 10b$-20b$ revenue SW: 400m * 40-60$ = 16b$-24b$ revenue Considering that SW makes typically much greater profit % than consoles (which are often sold at a loss), I think that says a lot about what matters more in the bottom line. |
