Won't be surprised if it falls below MK8 again soon, but considering this, I definitely see this game outselling Skyward Sword in Japan already. Maybe 500k or so. Keeping expectations low, but for a Zelda spin-off this would be good. If Japan can at least sell it decently, then I definitely forsee them hitting their 1 million worldwide goal. Wind Waker HD barely hit 1 million itself, but Wind Waker HD's problem was Japan. It sold horrible there. That doesn't seem to be the case for this game so far. |
Wind Waker should have decent legs across the WiiU's life. Not saying it will sell much more but still has a little bit left in it. In Japan though it is truely dead.
As for Hyrule Warriors I think they are banking on the west to buy it more than we ever have a Musou game. In Japan the Zelda paint job isnt going to help and being a Musou game on WiiU it could really struggle. The Musou crowd is mainly on PS consoles and something like this isnt going to push many to buy a WiiU. It will really rely on those few Musou and Zelda fans in Japan who already own a WiiU. Looking at PS3 numbers of the entire Musou series I would say 300k is a good number.
