Because adult Link's inclusion in the franchise is literally a reaction to fan opposition to wind waker and their positive reaction to the GCN tech demo. The sole reason he is included was because Aonuma wanted to "appologize" to fans for Wind Waker by giving them the "badass" Link they wanted. Skyward Sword's Link, who is very literally TP Link with baggier pants and a more colorful design, is a remnant of that design phylosophy.

Young Link absolutely can be badass, but the entire design phylosophy behind adult Link is to make him look badass. I don't mind badass characters, but a Link's design shouldn't be crafted around what looks the coolest.

He's still young im my eyes. He does't look as old as SS or TP Link, even if he is. And again, that doesn't bother me because there's a purpose to his age. He's that old (16) because it follows a cronalogy to the first game where he's 12. It, again, shows a child growing up.

I get your TP gripe, and you're entitled to your preferences. I don't agree that SS is part of that philosophy. It's a choice of Link and it's difficult for you to demonstrate how it's to make link look badass. Also, link is very humble in SS, if we look at how he's bullied by groose and defended by Zelda. I don't see how, other than by mind-reading, you can affirm that link in SS was made to look badass.

The Young Link/Adult Link argument you make really doesn't make sense to me. Sure, he's a child growing up, isn't that any adult really?

He's humble in TP to. I'm not talking about his character. I'm talking about the reasons for his aesthetic design. SS Link was made to look like TP Link with a WW pallet. That's not mind reading. Aonuma literally said that, on top of the fact that they look exactly alike. TP Link, again, was designed from the ground up to be fanservice as an appology for WW not being what the loud minority wanted.

And no, that's not any adult. Link in OoT is literally a child trapped in an older teen's body. That isn't a metaphor. That's literally what happens in that game.
