I don't like it. I don't like any Sonic game after Sonic Adventure 2. I mean, it looks nothing like a Sonic game. The 2D/3D effect limits full freedom of standard 3D. Why the Egyptian theme? How does that connect with Sonic? When you visualize of a new, 3D Sonic game, does any of this come to mind? Would you think of the whole werewolf Sonic crap? Seriously? Werewolf Sonic? What is Sega thinking? It's not rocket science. Sega is awkwardly destroying Sega. They go out of their way, to bring new ideas in, that stray the series away farther away from its routes. If Sonic Xtreme was released, none of this would have happened. There are signs of Sonic, drifting away from its routes in the Adventure Sonic games, but those were still very good.
Heroes is what confirmed the chain reaction. Why can't it be like Super Mario 64? Why does Sonic look different? What happened to the Sonic-feel? Where's the magic? It's gone. Why are there humans? Why are the robots humanoid? Why are there RPG sequences throughout the games? Why are there so many characters we don't want to play? Who is Silver? Why do I care? Why does Silver look like an owl, and sound like Chucky Cheese, high on crack? Why does Shadow need guns, and drive a truck? It makes as much sense as Super Man flying a plane. Who is Elise? Why can't she go back to Final Fantasy where she came from? Why does she exist? Why does Sonic and the Secret Rings resemble nothing of a Sonic game? When you think of Sonic, you think of sparkles, palm trees, oceans, robotic animals, checkered grounds, speed, platforming, Sonic, and Tails. You don't think of humans, humanoid robots, werewolf Sonic, Egypt, or any of that other stuff. When you play Mario platform games, they feel like the 2D ones, in 3D. Why can't Sonic be like that? Sonic should traverse through a 3D digital playground like Super Mario 64, but faster.
Just forget it. I don't even care anymore. Well, I do, but I don't want to. Sonic is dead to me. Nintendo should take over, or something. I don't like the new 2D Sonic games. I don't like the new 3D Sonic games Sonic games. Why? Because it's Sonic. It feels like Sonic. It looks like Sonic. It sounds like Sonic. When you visualize a 3D Sonic game, you should see segments from Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Jam, Sonic 3D Blast, and Sonic Xtreme, minus all the crap from those games. Nothing else. Sorry, but it consistantly annoys me when a new Sonic game comes out, and it turns out to be totally opposite of what I visioned. Sonic just angers me now. I literally get angry when I play these new Sonic games, because I keep seeing these flaws, and they annoy me like dead pixels, or dust, trapped beneath an LCD screen, that awkwardly diluted perfect ideas, and just ruin the game. If all the crap was trimmed out of these Sonic games, I would appreciate the games more, because they wont be so diluted with crap like RPG segments.
For examply, Sonic Adventure 2 could have deleted all of those Tails/Eggman, Rouge/Knuckles levels, and with less development time, create more Sonic levels, and turn all the Shadow levels into Sonic levels. They go out of their way to add these things that we don't want into the Sonic games. I mean, if they removed all the Amy, Big, Knuckles levels from Sonic Adventure, we could have had about 2-3 more Sonic levels. I just don't understand the logic. Sonic Adventure has perfect segments of what a true 3D Sonic game should be, but diluted it with crap, and glued crap onto it, with bull shit like RPG segments, which slow the game down, and characters we wished never existed. It's like painting the Mona Lisa, and then splashing a bucket of black paint, covering a large portion of the painting.
