They may just prefer the design.

They may feel a more compelling story of a child who has to overcome an ultimate evil over an adult.

This is an opinion thread, spem is just saying he wants young link back. 

Sure, his opinion is based on the idea that adult link = more badassness. My point is that I disagree on that and my questions prod him to reconsider his position.

I thought Skyward Sword Link was pretty badass, then again I was the one swinging the sword, lol.

I can also see where he might think Twilight Princess was trying too hard to be gritty and appeal to the "hardcore" crowd.
