2nd in lifetime sales, but 3rd in current sales.

To attract 3rd parties I think Wii U would need to start selling (and sustaining) 2 to 3 times current sales.

Of course your going to get that rush from newer hardware, but it's dropping. Look at PS4 in Japan or XOne in Europe.

XB1 sales are artificially down due to pricing f'ups, which should clear up next month.  Still XB1 is not even close as bad situation as Wii U because it still maintains all developer's support.

And Nintendo has money and no longer selling hardware at a lost.
