To be another one of the people to bring this back on track, I usually go to Gamespot because they consistently give a lengthy review of the game, but I use their option to see what other critics have listed as the scores to the game. It is like Metacritic in that it averages out all the scores. So read the article to find out about the game, use the compilation to find out the score.
The one I have increasingly come to distrust is G4's X-Play. They give a game like Halo 3 a 5/5 when it is more of the same, but count down games like Devil May Cry 4 for being more of the same. I also wonder how much they play of games when they will review a game and if I have played it I will notice that 99% of the things they show in the review happen within the first few hours of the game. Also, they seem to be biased towards the 360 pretty bad. If it is a 360 exclusive, it's a big plus. If it is a PS3 exclusive, it is a minus. If it is a Nintendo exclusive, it is a smaller minus. Similar for PC exclusives that are not World of Warcraft or a RTS.
