Nintendo's announces the Super Smash Bros. Challenger Contest

I know they want the fans to feel involved, but as a potential viewer of the event, I find this challenger thing a waste of time; I do not wish this match to be part of the event unless the challenger is selected based on his skill level, which doesn't seems like it is.
