I do also prefer the young link, but to be fair, the adult/old link is also fairly young. Isn't he in his teens? I think I read somewhere that adult link in OoT was 17, and in Skyward Sword he seems fairly young too. Also in Twilight Princess he is not very old, most likely in his teenage years.
What really would be interesting is an actual adult link, a father, or whatever, around 30-40 years old. With a darker and more adult voice(grunts). He could have a family of his own, a wife, children, a dog and some chickens of course.
I don't know if I would like it, but it would definitely be interesting.
