| HylianSwordsman said: Disagree. There needs to be both. Zelda as a series has strong themes of growing up, particularly in the child timeline. Not surprising, given that the character design was in fact based off Peter Pan.
Edit: I like both Young and Adult Link, but I voted for adult just to spite you :P |
I've played enough of them to make an educated guess about the rest lol trust me. I did mean worst "3D" Zelda, though. (Even though I think many of the 2D games are better as well) I don't think it's the worst 3D Zelda because it tries to be gritty and dark. I think it's the worst 3D Zelda because it's stale, uninspired, and try-hardy. It's trying to be what it's not and it's trying to 1-up Ocarina. I don't actually think it's gritty, or dark, or realistic, but it desprately tries to be because that's what non-fans demanded at the time, and the game is worse off for it.
I think Majora's Mask is the only truely "dark" Zelda, but that's partly because it wasn't trying to be. Aunuma didn't say "I want to make this one darker," he said "I want to truely explore the feelings of loss, lonelyness, and mortality that a yound child like this must genuinely feel after completing such great acts of heroism. The story after the credits roll." It's not as much dark as it is deep.
And I know "adult" Link is technically a teenager. That isn't the point.
"I have no problem with Toon Link, but I want to see a 3D Young Link in a non cel shaded art style again."
My thoughts exactly.
