Nintendo needs more western studios and more original western IPs to appeal to the west.

Their current properties are not enough. Most western gamers want games Nintendo just isn't providing. New people making the same games won't do anything, just like a western studio making Sonic won't suddenly make Sonic Boom sell better in the west. They need new IP that western gamers want and aren't getting from the Wii U.

For some reason, in my head I was more countering your "Nintendo only needs Retro. Nothing more, nothing less. Nintendos concern should not be in creating Intellectual Properties specifically tailored for Western markets " remark. My bad.

Nintendo's concern absolutely needs to be western markets. When you try to please everyone, you please no one. Nintendo has tons of IP that cater to a broad audience, but a broad audience isn't the entire audience and right now Nintendo's "worldwide appeal" IP's are sorely lacking in the western markets. In the same way Zelda doesn't have "world wide appeal," God of War doesn't. Nintendo needs more God of War to compliment their Zelda.
