While those two arguments are for the most part the same thing.

I highly doubt subsidizing the Kinect would put MS in the red, especially considering the long term payoff. Manufacturing fees would eliminate subsequent loss before any real damage occured anyway.


im sorry but do you work for MS? how do you know for sure? Im going by actions, and the fact that they are selling xone without Kinect to get it down to 400 says that the Kinect was costing them a good chunk of change to manufacture. or at least had the sold it for 400 with kinect they would be taking a loss. MS does NOT want to take a loss. Now whether you believe this is the right move or not is irrelevant since we arent the decision makers.
