People are against it because they want it to be supported better this gen unlike last gen. They feel like if everyone has one, more developers will support it and better games will come out.
That being said, I disagree with forcing people to pay extra for something they dont value and therefore am all for the Kinectless SKU. A good product will be accepted by the community and does not need to be forced.
