Iwata has been president for 12 years now and he has overseen one of greatest periods with the DS and the Wii, and the 3DS. The only knock on him is the Wii U mess which is slowing improving. If he does resign or is removed I expect that someone from in the company will raised to replace him probably around the same he was when he took over in 2002.
