Or put another way, even if Nintendo had given you all the games you wanted for the Wii U by the end of 2014, the system would still have tanked. Nintendo's success or lack thereof is not tied to the satisfaction of one single person or one group (for example: Zelda fans).

I doubt it would have tanked at the same degree with a real Zelda, a new Metroid and a real Mario 3D game, a good succesor for Melee and Mk64, with a new IP from Retro in the same vein of Mass Effect or more cartoony like Banjo Kazooie, a 3D DK game, a real Wii Sports sequel, a good RE remake and a new one (like in the GC era), a succesor for Luigi Mansion in HD, rather than WWHD better TPHD, a good SMB3 succesor that doesn't use once again the same style and graphics from NSMB.

Unfortunately, I won't never know.
