Dno, the Wii can also do 1080i BUT the output source is locked at 480p. It's not that Wii can't render a 1080i picture but the Wii simply doesn't allow for it right now. Even the N64 could render a 1080i picture if the output stream were set for it (granted the frame rate would be seconds per frame instead of frames per second).
Resident_Hazard, tough guess. Both of those figures I gave you for the GC and Xbox were straight from developers themselves.
