Can a PS2 handle all the games that are / can be developed on a Wii?

PS2 to Wii ports are starting to really piss me off. It is no longer good enough to just get some version(a shitty PS2 port) of a multi platform game on the Wii. Its the most successful console of the current generation. Why the hell can't the developers justify making a non gimped version of the game for the Wii when it has the largest user base.

I'm not going to support third parties who port PS2 titles to the Wii. The only exception might be for the Force Unleashed since it has light saber dueling and extra levels.
