Probably because they're typical "dumb Americans" who just think it's a silly foreign guy who can't properly pronounce the word "Godzilla", instead of realizing that the name of the first movie (and the actual Japanese name of the monster) is "Gojira", which isnt' a bad translation of "Godzilla", it's the other way around. Don't get me wrong, I love the name Godzilla, it's what I grew up with, and what I know him as. But the word "Godzilla" has zero meaning. So people laughing are laughing for the wrong, and dumbest, of reasons. |
I didn't see it in America. I saw it in a place where there are people from all over the world and many who's first language is not English, and the audience still laughed at the way he said it.
