Of course it has a future, it was beta tested in the future, so therefore in the future people will be beta testers on it.

Yeah it will be ok, it may not get over 60 million consoles, but it should be ok they should at least make a few exclusives that the hardcore will like (Halo/Fable/Forza etc), and will have taught MS a good lesson in how not to launch a console, so at least it will mean they will try harder to get a better console next time.
