i guess you dont agree, but i feel like the gamepad is an incredible advancement in gaming. have you not spent much time thinking about how much better gamees could be, or what new kinds of games that could be created? and just because nintendo created a console like the wii u doesnt mean it has to rely on sequels. wii u is the ONLY console that is capable of making unique games. the fact that the wii u is the console that they created doesnt seal their fate in the slightest. it seems more like nintendo has no idea what to do with the damn thing, which is very odd to me. it seems obvious how to make this console seem desirable in the eyes of the consumer.

I am all ears. Tell me about two great game ideas you've come up with for the Gamepad. And when I say "great", I mean something with massmarket appeal, not something like a Dungeons & Dragons game where one player can take on the role of the gamemaster thanks to the Gamepad.

mass market like a blue ocean strategy type of thing? hmm.. im not so sure. have you played much of wii party u? everybody in my family loves playing sketchy situation. that game is hilarious and everybody, no matter what kind of gamer you are, can get behind that. unfortunately, most of the other games on wii party u are sub-par, but it proves what magic the gamepad can produce if done right. do you remember when you first played mario chase? do you remember how that made you feel? it made me feel like i was having fun with a video game in a way that i never have had fun before, and one of my friends who was 360 only last generation felt the same way. these are just some examples of things that they have already done, and i believe it just needed to be marketed properly so people could see what value there is in those games.

what i am talking about has more to do with appeal for longtime gamers. for instance, what about customization type games for the wii u? like rpg maker or something like that. it could possibly spawn a whole new genre of game that wasnt really popular at all.. you mention a dungeons and dragons game, and i wouldnt necessarily say that the wii u needs that game specifically, but i think ideas could be implemented from dungeons and dragons to make a whole new ip in general. also, what about an actual high quality game show game. something that isnt jeopardy, but a nintendo made gameshow game that is like jeopardy but maybe has to do with nintendo characters, gaming, or even more serious subjects like history and science, i mean there are a lot of ideas you can come up with from that in itself. it certainly would be something i am interested in, and maybe something like that could even fulfill the mass market appeal that youre talking about. all i am saying is that THINGS LIKE THAT need to really be focused on, and should have before the console even came out. I dont think the wii u is the problem, its the way nintendo marketed it and the way they are deciding to support it.

i love platform games, dont get me wrong. the industry doesnt have enough of them, but platforming games IS NOT what the wii u needs right now. those releases should have been more spaced out or taken better care of. wii u needs more variety, and specifically variety that is centered around the gamepad. and i do believe they should come out with games like punchout that maybe have minimal use of the gamepad, but i think they could have had a big part in characterizing next generation with assymetrical gameplay. that would be awesome, and it makes me sad to see them not doing anything with something that has so much potential.

im not sure i convinced you of anything at all, but i really do think that the gamepad could have been an amazing piece of hardware for the wii u. the ideas are endless, and they have already implemented some really good ones, all they needed to do was show people how awesome it is!
