Furthermore, streaming games requires wifi and Playstation Now may require more bandwidth speed than the typical hot spot offers. Hence, there are some barriers for portable play. |
that is a fair point, regarding the hotspot speeds, except for Japan, surely you won't find 5mbs speeds on your local MacDonnalds. Though one important thing, at least in Europe, is that a ton of people in big cities (aged around 20-30) don't have big flats or live most of the week in rented rooms where they don't have space to put a big media center with HDTV's and PS4, but instead would find perfect use for a small handheld that would not only stream the PS Now games while at home with good internet speeds but also having a solid library offline in the commute to work.
Basically it would turn the Vita into a much more worthwhile system to own, rather than playing sudoku on their smartphones.
The broadband speeds at least in Europe and Japan are pretty damn good by now to make this a viable option, so count me as carefully optimistic.
