Not much of a prediction really. With the average console lifespan being about 5 years, it's pretty clear that if Nintendo can't turn things around by 2.5 years, things are going to be pretty bleak.

Wii was 6 years iirc and yeah i do agreee with you, it probably wont turn around. i just hope it will.

Wii came out November 2005 I believe... And the Wii U came out 2012.  So, that was 6 years technically.  But, remember that the last year of the Wii U's life was REALLY slow.  Skyward Sword was really the last big Wii game, with the next year just having Mario Party and a Kirby collection and Skylanders/Just Dance stuff.  Most other consoles didn't last as long though.

I never said Nintendo wouldn't turn things around.  It looks unlikely now, but Nintendo still has some pretty big advantages.  Especially with Microsoft basically killing the Kinect, Nintendo really has the best console for kids and families by a country mile.  On the same note, the Gamepad is now the most innovative feature on a next generation console.  They also have the best exclusive lineup.  Of course, they haven't done much with these advantages yet, and it's hard to see them suddenly succeeding when they've made so many wrong moves over the past year and a half, but it is still possible for them to sneak into second place.  First would be something of a miracle and one of the tech industry's biggest comeback stories.  Would be awesome though.
