The CPU on the Wii U lags a little behind the PS3 and 360, let alone the PS4 and One. The Wii U also has no hard drive, a fourth of the RAM of the other consoles, and a much different (and inferior) architecture.
But the biggest problem? The idiots at Nintendo named it after the FREAKIN WII. C'MON.
A lot of consumers associate Wii as being far behind the 360 and PS3 in terms of power, so that stigma carries over.
I still prefer my Wii U to my PS4 (at least until the PS4 gets some actual games out), but Nintendo screwed up big time.
