No... Sega did piss off the industry.

Some retailers refused to carry the Dreamcast due to business practices by Sega. EA didn't support Sega because Sega pushed EA away. Sega felt they didn't need EA and tried to compete with them. To the contrary, MS actually stopped making sports games to gain EA's support.

Anyone that feels Sega and Xbox are equal probably doesn't know much about Sega's downfall.

Good points there.  Sega pretty much screwed themselves over by releasing two unecessary add ons the 32X and Sega CD.  They did get screwed a bit by EA during the Dreamcast era since it actually had a pretty good launch and EA said they would support it intially if it would meet certain sales numbers during its launch period which it did but then backed out.  But Saturn software sales didn't really do much for their profits so I really can't blame them too much for bailing out before even starting with the Dreamcast.
