Why I am cautiously optimistic for Nintendo's E3 "Digital Event"

The ability to surprise is certainly what gets the most mileage out of any E3, and the surprise factor should be higher this year than last (mid-gen E3s are generally poor for Nintendo, but 2013 should be the nadir this time around).
