Since sales of PS4 and XBOne are so close in the US now, I think it is a no brainer that XBOne will outsell the PS4 in June (since this will essentially be a $100 price cut).

They should have done this months ago, but I guess they had to ensure that all of the menus and applications will work without Kinect.

I am curious if Sony will respond in any way to this at E3.

I think youll find on thursday that VGC is wrong and the sales arent close in the slightest when the NPD report comes out. They didnt drop kinect and drop $100 because the sales are close. Its gonna show a huge gap at retail in April and May will now be even worse with them announcing this price cut 3 weeks out.

The 360 sales are roughly double the PS3 sales in the US, which is MS's biggest and best market.  Based on VGChartz numbers, the XBOne sales are on par with the PS4 in the US, and they are much lower worldwide.  Even if the VGChartz numbers are off, I don't expect them to be off by more than 10%.  I think the loss of market share in the US compared to the last gen (even if the sales are close now) would be enough force MS to drop their price.

I agree that May numbers may be worse, as people who were thinking of buying soon will put it off until June (which will again make the XBOne numbers in June that much higher).  I don't think April numbers for XBOne will be that bad, because the Titanfall sales boost should have still been in effect.  Personally, I am still predicting that PS4 outsold XBOne in April though.
