I am surprised so many people say it won't. X1 is already outselling ps4, and with the price cut, it will catch up fast.

While it'll help, sometimes a price cut/change in system may not help (See PS3 at first). While I think in NA the Xbox One could catch the PS4 (it's a decent prediction, first first response in thread) There are a lot of factors that could still hurt the Xbox One. Things like games matter, both PS4 and Xbox One have just had a big game out and more on the way, each with their own small spike.

Xbox One outsold the PS4 in NA this week by 2000 units, 2000 units times 24 month (aka 2016) is only 50k and they are down by 300k. Keep in mind in that time other games will release, both consoles will have a price reductions as costs of manufacturing go down, things like that. Week before that only 1k units, week before that PS4 won. The price reduction bump might only be 5k units, still not enough.

Then there is that one very important thing, maybe, just maybe, less people want the Xbox One. If you are going to spend the money, people will buy what they want not what is cheapest, especially when it comes to games consoles. Many on his site that don't have next gen consoles have already made up their mind what they want, they are just waiting for the correct price. But we are die hard fans, the casual market could affect it a little but they aren't looking to spend $400 in June. That's what Christmas is for.

No it didn't
VGChartz Numbers are wrong
Look at the last month NPD where suddenly the PS4 especially after adjustments was far far far ahead again.
Only on the weekly VGchartz numbers the X1 is somehow ahead and no one knows why they do this all the time.

Yeah apparently week by week XBO can outsell the PS4, but in one single week the PS4 then beats the previous 3 weeks of sales ... yeah but no.

NPD tomorrow, so I guess we will see if VGC is correct or is wrong, but many believe it to be wrong. So unless VGC see something we don't it could be interesting tomorrow.

It does sound like both consoles have lower sales April than in March (ignoring the 5 week period of course)... so we could be in for a bit of a stinker of an NPD.

As MS have decided that the kinect removal wont be done until 9th June, we wont know until mid July if thats made any difference at all. I think E3 is june right... so that could have more of a bearing on sales than the removal of kinect (for both companies).
