It is worth mentioning that they said as profitable as PS2, the later PS2 years and early PS3 years would have had lots of PS3 and maybe PSP costs as well so the PS2 only profit would be higher than the graph shows.

Yes sony is the red one, why it doesn't include nintendo pre Gc i'm not sure but that doesn't really matter for the topic.
While the Ps2 era was indeed profitable it also shows that a console that sold +- 22 million had around the same profit

Errrr, no that shows Nintendo was making a lot of profit off the GBA, which on a year to year basis in its prime was outselling the current 3DS easily. Nintendo was also raking in tons of money from Pokemon product licensing (toys, movies, etc.) in the late 90s/early 2000s which buoyed their profit margins and made up for a lower selling GameCube.
