Even a large amount of shovelware can't do a system in on its own; the PS2 is a great example of that fact in action. There are well over 1,500 games for the PS2, yet I'd wager fewer than 200 are considered "good". What hurts a system (and what did the Atari 2600 in) is massive quantities of shovelware getting released coupled with NO good releases. As it's a Nintendo platform, and Nintendo is the most prolific first-party developer in history, that's not even a concern for the Wii.
